This is ArmadilloCon 39.  Join us!

 

We are a literary focused convention here in Austin Texas.  Not only do we have great guests and programming but there is also an art show to explore, dealers room,  and a Writers Workshop for aspiring authors as well.

 

Accessibility

 

ArmadilloCon 2017 is committed to making this convention welcoming to everyone. Accordingly, we will do our best to ensure the accessibility of the entire convention to all of our members.  In the coming months, we will appoint an Accessibility Coordinator to ensure that we are doing our best to meet the needs of all our members.

The Omni Hotel Southpark is an ADA compliant hotel, but has a limited number of ADA compliant guest rooms. If you need an ADA room, have any accessibility questions, or if you have suggestions for improvements, please contact us at

 

• All the programming takes place on the ground floor of the convention hotel. The conference rooms are quite close together, joined by wide hallways.
• Each conference room will have a wide aisle and taped-off space reserved for scooter and wheelchair parking.
• Program participants sit on a stage in the larger rooms, but are at floor level in the smaller rooms. One room only, identified as the Conference Center, is an amphitheater design and the program participants level is not accessible for wheelchairs or scooters. If you are a program participant, please email with any requests for specific accommodations.
• PDF versions of our Program Guide and Program Grid will be available for download on the convention website the week before the convention.

 

We strongly encourage all convention participants to treat one another with thoughtfulness and respect. As part of that, please adhere to the following guidelines:

 

• Make way for people with mobility impairments and respect the lines around reserved audience spaces. If you stop to chat in the hallway, make sure you leave plenty of space for other people to pass. Remember that not all mobility impairments are visible.
• If you see someone whom you believe needs assistance, offer to help and wait for them to accept before taking action. Do not touch or move another person's belongings or equipment, or touch people to guide them, unless they explicitly ask you to do so.
• Do not pet or otherwise attempt to interact with service animals.
